Zuidasdok is one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the Netherlands, with the goal of improving the accessibility of Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district and the northern part of the Randstad area by road and by public transport. With this update, the local infrastructure will be able to accommodate the rapidly increasing traffic flows in this area now and in the future. The Zuidasdok project is centred around the heart of the Amsterdam Zuidas area, but also crosses through Amsterdam East and West. The project includes widening the A10 Zuid motorway from four lanes to six lanes in each direction and building two tunnels between the Amstel and Nieuwe Meer junctions. Bringing the A10 Zuid National Motorway underground will create space to renew and expand the Amsterdam Zuid railway station and to redesign the station area. This redevelopment will make it possible to double the width of the station’s existing Minervapassage and create space for a second passageway, the Brittenpasage. The project also includes the redesign of the Amstel and Nieuwe Meer junctions. Preparatory work for the Zuidasdok started in 2018, with construction starting in 2019. The entire project is due to be completed in 2028. CI-Engineers is modelling the load-bearing part of the track for the Minervapassage and the Brittenpassage in Revit 3D. This model details the positions and dimensions of the abutments, support points, pile foundations, troughs and slab bridges for the metro and train viaducts. NEXT PROJECT
