The Zuidas area in Amsterdam is an important public transport hub for the Amsterdam region. To accommodate the large number of passengers expected in the future, the existing Minervapassage at Amsterdam Zuid Station is being modified, while a new passage, known as the Brittenpassage, is being designed and constructed.
The Nieuw-Zuid construction consortium has been commissioned to demolish the existing metro decks and to design and construct new metro decks for the Minervapassage, the Brittenpassage and the section near Parnassusweg.
CI-Engineers has modellers, structural engineers and a work planner working on this project. They are responsible for the structural calculations and modelling of the new metro decks, abutments, foundation structures and earthworks as part of the detailed design. CI-Engineers is also involved in the design of temporary structures, including the temporary canopies for the Minervapassage and the temporary structures required to slide the deck into position at the Vivaldi passage.
A site engineering team is also involved in the project. Led by one of our CI colleagues, this team resolves technical issues that arise during construction.
