The SAAone project is part of the expansion of the A1 and A6 motorways and covers a distance of approximately 20 kilometres. Both the A1 and A6 between the Diemen interchange and the Hollandse Brug have been widened to 2×5 lanes. From the Hollandse Brug to the Hoge Ring near Almere, the A6 has been expanded to 4×2 lanes. A two-lane reversible carriageway has also been constructed along the entire A1/A6 route.
The project includes various civil engineering structures. In addition, an aqueduct has been constructed underneath the River Vecht near Muiden, and the Muiderberg interchange has been modified.
These works have improved accessibility in the region, enhanced traffic flow and contributed to a better living environment. Construction started in 2013 and continued until 2020.
CI-Engineers' employees were responsible for the 3D modelling of various civil engineering structures, including bicycle tunnels and pergola structures. CI-Engineers also carried out modelling work for the aqueduct underneath the River Vecht.
