Project Zuidasdok - CI-Engineers

Zuidasdok

Project description

Zuidasdok is one of the largest infrastructure projects in the Netherlands. The project aims to improve accessibility to Amsterdam Zuidas and the northern Randstad by both road and public transport, while also providing sufficient capacity for the expected growth in passenger numbers in the years ahead.

The project is primarily located in the heart of Amsterdam Zuidas, but also extends through the eastern and western parts of the city.

Zuidasdok includes the widening of the A10 South motorway from four to six lanes in each direction and the construction of two tunnels for the A10 South between the Amstel and De Nieuwe Meer interchanges.

By moving the A10 South underground, space is created to renovate and expand Amsterdam Zuid station and to redesign the surrounding station area. As part of this redevelopment, the existing Minervapassage can be widened to twice its current width, while a second passage, the Brittenpassage, will provide additional capacity.

Role of CI-Engineers

The project also includes the redevelopment of the Amstel and De Nieuwe Meer interchanges.

CI-Engineers is responsible for creating a 3D Revit model of the load-bearing railway structures for both the Minervapassage and the Brittenpassage.

The model includes the abutments, supports, pile foundations, trough structures and slab bridges for the metro and railway viaducts.
